Boxers, with their occupations that require them to stand and fight against men trained to inflict serious pain, probably won’t be scared by a few ghouls and stale candy corn on Halloween. Want to scare a fighter? Manipulate a hotel scale to make him think he gained three pounds while sleeping the day of a weigh-in.

For the pugilists who aren’t in isolation avoiding sweets like the Plague, Oct. 31 is an opportunity to get away from sparring for dress-up with friends and family.

Here is a selection of top Halloween costumes from the world of boxing in 2015.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. – Anthony Curtis from Dead Presidents

The recently retired Floyd Mayweather Jr. dressed up as a jaded former soldier turned bank robber from the 1995 film Dead Presidents. At the end of that movie, the anti-hero winds up on a bus headed for prison. Mayweather’s plot has had a better ending, as he walked away from boxing with a 49-0 record and seemingly plenty of cash.

Cam-Awesome_Booker-TCam F. Awesome – WWE wrestler Booker T

Top U.S. amateur boxer Cam F. Awesome, who has deemed himself “the Taylor Swift of boxing,” may be a 4-time national amateur champion, but he makes a pretty convincing five time, five time, five time, five time, five time WCW champion Booker T.

Awesome, who will likely represent USA at the 2016 Olympics as a heavyweight, portrayed the current WWE announcer during his “King Booker” days, which most wrestling fans will agree was his best gimmick.

Nonito Donaire Jr. – The Incredibles

There was a time when “The Filipino Flash” Nonito Donaire Jr. dressed “The Flash” for Halloween, portraying the DC Comic hero known for using his speed to get out of danger. Now the 4-division champion is more mature, and no feature film says super hero family man like The Incredibles. He and wife Rachel are still one short super hero short of the Parr clan’s three kids.

Lupe Contreras

Not everyone had a day off from work on Saturday. Some, like ring announcer Lupe Contreras, had to show off their Halloween spirit at work. Contreras was busy announcing the participants for Top Rank’s Solo Boxeo card Kissimmee, Fla. What would’ve been a real Halloween horror is if he had to pronounce Poonsawat Kratingdaenggym.

Andre-Berto_Curly-PimpAndre Berto – Pimpin’ Curly

Those who are not familiar with 50 Cent’s obscure personalities may not recognize former welterweight titleholder Andre Berto’s outfit. If it doesn’t make sense, you can still admire the jheri curl wig, which is a winner any day of the year.

Hino Ehekiminor – Eazy E

NWA hype man Eazy E is once again relevant in pop culture due to the Straight Outta Compton movie, and The Contender season four finalist Hino Ehikhamenor nailed it pretty close. To paraphrase the late Eric Wright, wearing an LA Kings letterman jacket in New York is “Eazy-er said than Dunn.”
