Arthur Abraham retained his WBO super middleweight title with a sixth-round stoppage of Robert Stieglitz on Saturday in Halle, Germany. It was the fourth time the domestic rivals met in the ring.

Abraham (43-4, 29 KOs), THE RING’s No. 1-rated super middleweight, has now won seven consecutive bouts since suffering a fourth-round stoppage to Stieglitz (47-4-1, 27 KOs), the magazine’s No. 4-rated contender.

Abraham, a former IBF middleweight titleholder who has lost super middleweight title bouts to Carl Froch and Andre Ward, won his first bout with Stieglitz with a competitive unanimous decision in 2012. He edged his fellow Germany-based veteran via split decision in their hotly contested rubber match last March.
