Perfect Execution, the popular illustrated technical guide to boxing by legendary champion Bernard Hopkins, is back as a regular feature in the pages of THE RING magazine. That includes the September 2015 issue, which is on newsstands now.

The 13th installment of the new Perfect Execution focuses on target practice, aka pad work.

“The importance of pad work is to improve your hand speed and punching accuracy,” says Hopkins. “This is one of the most significant parts of training. It helps you build and create a vision of a fight plan. You work on the holes of your opponent’s defense. You better have someone who knows what they’re doing holding the pads. That’s as important as the pad work itself.”
