Reigning WBO super middleweight titleholder Arthur Abraham has vowed to bring a conclusive ending to his feud with domestic rival Robert Stieglitz when the pair collide for a fourth time on July 18 in Halle, Germany.

Abraham and Stieglitz have squared off once a year since 2012, with the former claiming two close decision victories in fights one and three. Stieglitz did prevail via fourth round technical knockout in an unsatisfying second meeting, when “King Arthur” sustained a serious eye injury, and he will be looking to repeat that upset.

“Four fights with Robert is enough for me,” insisted Abraham (42-4, 28 knockouts) in a press release issued by Sauerland Promotions. ”Of course victory is always the most important thing but, on July 18, I don’t just want to win; I want to win decisively and prove once and for all that I am the better man.”

Stieglitz (47-4-1, 27 KOs) countered, ”I have analyzed all three of our fights in detail. With the right tactical adjustments, I have no doubt that this time I will be victorious.”

Abraham, rated No. 2 by THE RING at 168 pounds, is in the twilight of his career and defeat could signal the end for the powerful German-based Armenian. Stieglitz, who is rated No. 5, did perform well in a draw with Felix Sturm in November but a follow-up loss would also leave him devoid of options.

The trainers of both combatants confirmed how crucial this fourth fight could be.

“This is a great rivalry that always promises excitement,” said Abraham’s coach, Ulli Wegner. “Arthur must enter the ring in top condition or risk losing his position at the top of the super middleweight division.”

“Fans can look forward to a spectacular fight,” said Dirk Dzemski, who works with Stieglitz. ”This fight will be on a knife’s edge. Both boxers know how hard it will be to beat the other and Arthur had better be well-prepared because we’re ready for it.”

Tickets for Abraham vs. Stieglitz IV are available by calling the Gerry Weber Ticket Centre on (+49) 5201 81 80 or online via www.gerryweber-world.de and www.tickethall.de. All the action will be shown live on SAT.1 in Germany and Sky Sports in the UK.
