The first two broadcasts of ‘MetroPCS Friday Night Knockout’ have provided knockouts and upsets. Who knows what Friday night’s broadcast will bring?

Undefeated junior welterweight Jose Benavidez Jr. will square off against Jorge “El Maromerito” Paez at US Airways Center in Phoenix, Ariz. The opening bout will feature unbeaten junior welterweight Antonio Orozco fighting Emmanuel Taylor in a 10-round bout.

Both bouts will be televised live on truTV, beginning at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.

On Dec. 13, Benavidez (22-0, 15 knockouts) won a 12-round unanimous decision over Mauricio Herrera in a bout most at ringside thought Herrera did enough to win.

The 22-year-old Benavidez will be fighting in his hometown of Phoenix for just the second time.

Paez (38-5-2, 23 KOs) is the son of Jorge “El Maromero” Paez, the self-proclaimed ‘Clown Prince of Boxing.’

In his last bout on Feb. 21, Paez knocked out Ronald Montes in the fourth round in Ocozocoautla, Chiapas, Mexico. Paez’s last four losses have come by majority or split decision.

Orozco, who hails from San Diego, was scheduled to fight Taylor on March 12 in San Antonio, Texas but had to withdraw from the fight in early February after suffering a cut over his right eye during training camp.

The 27-year-old Orozco, who is managed by Frank Espinoza and promoted by Golden Boy Promotions, has not fought since Oct. 10, when he won a one-sided, eight-round decision over Steve Forbes.

Taylor put up a valiant effort in his last bout on Sept. 6, losing a 12-round, unanimous decision to Adrien Broner in Cincinnati, Ohio. Taylor is promoted by Star Boxing.
