Perfect Execution, the popular illustrated technical guide to boxing by legendary champion Bernard Hopkins, is back as a regular feature in the pages of THE RING magazine. That includes the July 2015 issue, which is on newsstands now.

RingTV’s Bill Emes ventured to Philadelphia, prior to Hopkins’ IBF-WBA light heavyweight title unification victory over Beibut Shumenov, to capture a behind-the-scenes look at the photo shoot and interview for the ongoing series.

The eleventh installment of the new Perfect Execution focuses on the gym’s most distinctive noisemaker: the speed bag.

“The importance of hitting the speed bag is to build speed, accuracy and timing. It also builds hand and eye coordination. It is a part of the basic work all fighters start off doing and it really is an important part of training that all world-class fighters still perform today. Speed-bag work ties all of the things that you want to do.”
