Antonio Orozco is one of the more talented prospects in a loaded junior welterweight division. He will attempt to substantiate that statement and prove he is ready to take the next step toward contender status.

Orozco (21-0, 15 knockouts) will return to the ring on May 15 against Emmanuel Taylor, manager Frank Espinoza told RingTV over the weekend.

The 10-round bout, along with a 12-round bout between Jose Benavidez Jr. and Jorge Paez Jr., will take place at the US Airways Centre in Phoenix, Ariz. with Top Rank Promotions and Iron Boy co-promoting the card.

Orozco and Taylor were scheduled to fight on March 12 in San Antonio, Texas. Orozco had to withdraw from the fight in early February when he suffered a cut over his right eye during training camp.

In his last bout on Oct. 10, Orozco won a one-sided, eight-round unanimous decision over former world titleholder Steve Forbes.

Orozco is managed by Espinoza and promoted by Golden Boy Promotions.

Taylor (18-3, 12 KOs) gave a good effort in a close, 12-round, unanimous decision loss to Adrien Broner on September 6. Taylor has solid wins over Raymond Serrano, Victor Cayo, and, most recently, Karim Mayfield.
