Fighters on Roc Nation’s debut ‘Throne Boxing’ card make weight

NEW YORK CITY – Roc Nation Sports held the official weigh-in for the first fight card of their brand new Throne Boxing series to be held at the Theatre at Madison Square Garden on Friday. The Thursday weigh-in took place at Jay-Z’s own 40/40 Club with ring announcer Michael Buffer and the rapper Fabolous in attendance to help build the buzz around the show.

The two fighters in the headlining welterweight attraction, which will be broadcast live on Fox Sports 1 beginning at 10:00 p.m. EST, had no trouble making weight on Thursday afternoon. Undefeated prospect Dusty Hernandez-Harrison (24-0, 13 knockouts), from Washington D.C., who recently signed with Roc Nation Sports, weighed in easily at 145 pounds, well below the welterweight limit. His opponent, Tommy Rainone (22-5-1, 4 KOs), from New York, came in at 146.8.

The middleweight co-feature will feature Tureano Johnson (16-1, 11 KOs), who weighed in at an even 160 pounds. His opponent from Colombia, Alex Theran (17-1, 9 KOs), came in at 158.2.

Boxing luminaries such as Riddick Bowe, Hasim Rahman and Zab Judah were in attendance to help lend support.
