Felix Verdejo, Jesse Hart score KOs in Philadelphia

Lightweight prospect Felix Verdejo and undefeated super middleweight Jesse Hart scored knockouts in the fourth and second rounds on Saturday at the 2300 Arena in Hart’s native Philadelphia. The Top Rank Promotions card was televised on UniMas.

The 21-year-old Verdejo (16-0, 12 knockouts), a 2012 Olympian from Puerto Rico, hammered Karim El Ouazghari (16-6-2, 4 KOs), of Barcelona, Spain.

The 25-year-old son of former middleweight contender Eugene “Cyclone” Hart, Hart (16-0, 13 KOs) took out Samuel Miller (28-10, 25 KOs) to notch his third straight stoppage victory.

Trained by his father, the 6-foot-2 Hart was in his fifth fight of the year against Miller.



In other bouts on the card, welterweight Julian Rodriguez (8-0, 7 KOs) dropped Randy Fuentes (4-4-1, 0 KOs) four times during his fourth-round knockout victory, junior lightweight Toka Kahn Clary (14-0, 9 KOs) unanimously decisioned Camilo Perez (9-3, 4 KOs), and middleweight Thomas Lamanna (16-0, 7 KOs) did the same to Gilbert Sanchez (4-6, 2 KOs).
