Heavyweight David Price will return to the ring against Emilio Zarate on Dec. 6 in Germany, after having recovered from a damaged tendon in his right hand, Sauerland Event announced on Friday.

“It’s great to have David Price boxing on terrestrial television for the first time in his professional career. David is always in exciting fights and is known for his one-punch power. He’s one of the biggest punchers in the world right now,” said promoter Mick Hennessy.

“This appearance on Channel 5 will give David the exposure he needs and will allow a much bigger audience to get a taste of the power he possesses. Tyson [Fury,] Peter [Fury] and I are all rooting for him to do well and are hoping we can set up a domestic blockbuster once Tyson has won the world heavyweight title next year.”

Also on the card, to be televised in England on Channel 5, is RING/IBF cruiserweight champion Yoan Pablo Hernandez in a defense against former title challenger Ola Afolabi, and THE RING’s No. 4-rated light heavyweight Juergen Braehmer opposite Pawel Glazewski.

Price, 31, has won three straight fights since suffering consecutive stoppage losses to American Tony Thompson in 2013. Following his most recent bout, a unanimous decision over Yaroslav Zavorotnyi, Price required surgery to repair an injury to his right hand.

“I’m working hard every day in the gym, and the time I’ve spent out with injury has only made me hungrier,” said the 6-foot-8 Price (18-2, 15 knockouts). “On Dec. 6, people are going to see me at my most dangerous. I’m coming with bad intentions. I want to put in a performance and entertain all the fans watching at home on Channel 5.”

Zarate (18-13-3, 9 KOs), who is 33, was knocked out in the seventh round by Arnold Gjergjaj in his last fight in March.
