A deal is close to match former RING light heavyweight champion Jean Pascal and Donovan George on the Dec. 6 undercard of a bout between ex-IBF super middleweight titleholder Lucian Bute and Roberto Feliciano Bolonti at Bell Centre in Montreal, promoter Jean Bedard of Interbox informed RingTV.com on Monday.

Pascal (29-2-1, 17 knockouts), 31, returns to the site of his last win, a unanimous decision over Bute (31-2, 24 KOs) in January.

Pascal won for the third straight time, having also scored a unanimous decision over Aleksy Kuziemski and a fifth-round knockout of George Blades since losing his WBC title via unanimous decision to Bernard Hopkins in May 2011.

George (26-4-2, 22 KOs), 29, is coming off a unanimous over Dyah Davis in August.

“There are some final details that we have to finalize with Pascal and also with Donovan George and that will be on the Dec. 6 doubleheader with Bute and Bolonti,” said Bedard. “But I would say that there is a very good chance that we will have something on that this week. I would say that it’s going to happen.”

Prior to facing Pascal, Bute, 34, was coming off a unanimous decision victory over previously unbeaten light heavyweight Denis Grachev in November which followed a fifth-round knockout loss to Carl Froch that cost him his IBF 168-pound belt in May 2012.

In his last fight in June, Bolonti (35-3, 24 KO) lost a unanimous decision to Juergen Braehmer that ended his run of five consecutive victories, all by stoppage.

Bolonti’s previous loss before Braehmer was a unanimous decision to Tony Bellew in November 2012.
