The July 10 rematch between IBF junior lightweight titleholder Argenis Mendez and Rances Barthelemy will give Mendez "a second chance to correct a mistake," according to former undisputed heavyweight titleholder Mike Tyson, who will promote the return bout, entitled "Judgement Day," at The Convention Center in Miami.

The rematch became necessary after Mendez's controversial second-round knockout loss to Barthelemy last January in Minneapolis was overturned and ruled a "no contest" by the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry, restoring Mendez as titleholder.

"You don't always get a second chance to correct a mistake," said Tyson, who promotes Mendez. "Hopefully, he will take advantage of this opportunity."

Barthelemy (19-0, 12 knockouts) knocked out Mendez (21-2-1, 11 KOs) with punches illegally thrown after the bell ending the second round. Tyson appealed and, after the result was overturned, the IBF mandated a rematch. Tyson won the purse bid to promote Mendez-Barthelemy II, which will air on Fox Sports I.

Also on the card will be light heavyweight contender Humberto Savigne and welterweight Erickson Lubin, each against an opponent to be determined.
