Heavyweight David Price will face Yaroslav Zavorotnyi on June 7 at the Sport and Congress Centre in Schwerin, Germany, Sauerland Events announced on Wednesday.

"Pricey has really impressed me in his last two fights. Not only with his performances in the ring but also his attitude outside of it," said promoter Kalle Sauerland of Price, whose fight will be on the undercard of a light heavyweight bout featuring Juergen Braehmer against an opponent to be determined. "He really is a consummate professional and a great ambassador for the sport. He is now ranked in the top ten with the WBO and will continue to climb the rankings with another win in Schwerin."

Price (17-2, 15 knockouts) returns to action following the third-round stoppage of Ondrej Pala in Denmark in April that followed a first-round knockout of Istvan Ruzsinszky in January. The win over Ruzsinszky helped Price to rebound from consecutive knockout losses to Tony Thompson in the second and fifth rounds last February and last July.

"I feel like I have really benefitted from fighting away from home. There is a lot less pressure and that has given me the opportunity to express myself more in the ring," said Price, a 30-year-old who stands 6-foot-8. "In my last fight against Pala, I was calm and relaxed, and I was able to enjoy the whole occasion. I have definitely got my mojo back. I can’t wait to get back into the mix with all the big names in the heavyweight division."

The 39-year-old Zavorotnyi (16-6, 14 KOs) has won two straight, having last been in action for a fourth-round knockout of Sedrak Agagulyan in September. Prior to facing Agagulyan, Zavorotnyi had lost consecutive bouts by fifth-round knockout against Alexander Dimitrenko in July 2010 and Kubrat Pulev in February 2011.

"Zavorotnyi is a strong, durable opponent. He has a decent knockout record and has gone the distance with some good boxers including, Kubrat Pulev," said Price. "He is definitely not someone I can overlook. No matter who is put in front of me I’ve got to put in a good performance and make sure I get the win."
