WBO junior welterweight titleholder Ruslan Provodnikov and challenger Chris Algieri are enrolled in random drug testing of blood and urine by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) in advance of their June 14 bout at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The 30-year-old Provodnikov (23-2, 16 knockouts) was last in the ring for October's 10th-round knockout victory over Mike Alvarado, whom he floored twice in the eighth round to earn his current belt.

Provodnikov had his blood and urine randomly tested by VADA for his unanimous decision loss to then-WBO welterweight titleholder Tim Bradley, whom he dropped in the 12th round in March 2013. The 30-year-old Algieri (19-0, 8 KOs) was last in the ring for a unanimous decision over Emmanuel Taylor in February.

"Ruslan has decided for his fights that he would like to do the VADA testing and he would like his opponents to do it as well," said Artie Pelullo, Provodnikov's promoter with Banner Promotions. "This is to make sure that everything is done properly and that there's nothing going on that shouldn't be going on in a professional boxing contest."

On the undercard, British junior middleweight contender Brian Rose (25-1-1, 7 knockouts) will challenge WBO titleholder Demetrius Andrade (20-0, 13 KOs) and unbeaten light heavyweight Seanie Monaghan (21-0, 14 KOs) of Long Beach, N.Y., against Elvir Muriqi (40-6, 24 KOs) of New York City.

Also on the card will be Brooklyn middleweight Simeon Hardy (12-0, 9 KOs) as well as female junior featherweight Heather Hardy (9-0, 2 KOs), who are 26 and 32, respectively. Pelullo promotes Simeon Hardy and DiBella Entertainment handles Heather Hardy. The two are not related, Pelullo confirmed.
