WASHINGTON, D.C. — RingTV.com has a live round-by-round update on tonight's welterweight clash during which IBF titleholder Shawn Porter scored two knockdowns on the way to a second-round technical knockout over two-division titlewinner Paulie Malignaggi at The D.C. Armory in Washington, D.C.

Referee Sam Williams stepped in to end it at the 1:14 mark.

A 33-year-old former two-division titleholder, Malignaggi (33-6, 7 knockouts) had been told that Porter (24-0-1, 15 KOs), 26, would  "steamroll" him.

Malignaggi was in his eighth consecutive 147-pound bout since rising from 140, while Porter, a former sparring partner for Manny Pacquiao, has fought as high as junior middleweight in the past.

In his last fight, Malignaggi rose from a second-round knockdown to score a unanimous decision over ex-beltholder Zab Judah. The "Magic Man's" victory came on the heels of a split-decision loss last June to Adrien Broner, who dethroned Malignaggi as WBA 147-pound titlist.

Porter was coming off a unanimous-decision win over Devon Alexander, during which he dictated a physical fight that left both men bleeding from cuts above their eyes.

1.  At ring center, Malignaggi jabs and stands his ground. Malignaggi lands a jab to the body. Porter does the same, and follows with a right to the body. Malignaggi alrdady has a cut below his left eye. Two hard right hand for Malignaggi, who eludes the oncoming Porter. Nice right by Malignaggi off the ropes. He has Porter lunging and missing. Malignaggi, 10-9.

2. To start the second, Malignaggi is right there at ring center again, pumping his jab and using nice head movement. Two jabs and a right to the body by Malignaggi. Porter appears to be confused. They trade rights, and then, Malignaggi gets off a combination to finish the action. They trade jabs. Two hard right hands by and a left hook by Porter force Malignaggi to clinch. Porter lands a hard right and then a left. Jab by Malignaggi. Hard fight hand and a left hurt Malignaggi. Porter is hammering him with rights and lefts on the ropes. Malignaggi's extremely wobbly and looks ready to go. Porter, 10-9; Even 19-19.

3.  Crowd's chanting "Paulie, Paulie." Hard right to the body by Porter, and two more after that. They clinch. Hard left to the body and a bludgeoning right that hurt Malignaggi. Four jabs by Porter drive Malignaggi backward. Three jabs and a hard right followed by a left uppercut rock Malignaggi again. On the ropes, Porter hammers home three right hands to the body and another over the top to the head. During a clinch, Porter pounds the body with the right hand. Left hook and a right hand by Porter. Malignaggi can't keep him off. Porter, 10-9; 29-28.

4.  Porter jabs three times, lands a hook to the body and DROPS MALIGNAGGI WITH A RIGHT HAND. He rises, and referee Sam Williams waves him to action. LEAPING LEFT HOOK ROCKS MALIGNAGGI, HE CAN'T KEEP PORTER OFF HIM. MALIGNAGGI GETS DRIVEN TO THE ROPES AND TO THE CANVAS. FIGHT'S OVER!!!!
