It's official.

Ruslan Provodnikov will defend his WBO 140-pound belt against Chris Algieri on June 14 at the Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, N.Y., promoters Artie Pelullo and Joe DeGuardia announced on Thursday. The fight will be shown on HBO.

"The fight is a done deal," said Pelullo, who is holding a press conference on Tuesday in New York.

In his past two fights, Provodnikov (23-2, 19 knockouts) scored a 12th-round knockdown during a unanimous-decision loss to WBO welterweight titleholder Tim Bradley in RingTV.com's 2013 Fight of the Year, followed by a 10th-round stoppage over Mike Alvarado for his current belt. Algieri (19-0, 8 KOs) was last in the ring for a unanimous decision over Emmanuel Taylor in February.

"It is an interesting fight. It's a good fight. It's an interesting choice of venue," said Top Rank CEO Bob Arum, who is co-promoting the event. "I conferred with Artie on that, and I can't wait for that fight. It should be very interesting. There's a big Russian community and Algieri has a great following, so it should do very well."

Light heavyweight Sean Monaghan will face Joe McCreedy on the undercard.

STACKED ADONIS STEVENSON-ANDREZEJ FONFARA CARD ANNOUNCED

Canadian middleweight David Lemieux will face Fernando Guerrero; light heavyweight Artur Beterbiev will be in against former super middleweight titleholder Jeff Lacy; and 175-pounders Eleider Alvarez and Radivoje “Hot Rod” Kalajdzic will meet on the undercard of the May 24 Adonis Stevenson-Andrzej Fonfara main event in Montreal, promoter Yvon Michel announced on Wednesday. Showtime will broadcast the event.

Welterweight Mikael Zewski also returns opposite Prince Doku Jr., as will middleweight Kevin Bizier and heavyweight Oscar Rivas.

FEATHERWEIGHTS LEE SELBY, ROMULO KOASICHA MEET ON MAY 17

Featherweights Lee Selby (18-1, 7 KO) and Romulo Koasicha (21-3, 12 KOs) will meet in a WBC eliminator on May 17 at Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff, Wales, for the right to face titleholder Jhonny Gonzalez, Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport announced on Wednesday.
