Thomas Dulorme regained the prospect status he lost when he was knocked out by Luis Carlos Abregu by outpointing previously unbeaten Karim Mayfield in the 10-round co-feature to the Sergey Kovalev-Cedric Agnew fight on Saturday in Atlantic City, N.J.

Dulorme (21-1, 14 knockouts), who won by scores of 98-92, 97-94, and 96-93, boxed well over the first half of the bout by keeping Mayfield on the outside where he could dictate the pace and outland the more battle-tested junior welterweight fringe contender.

The 24-year-old Puerto Rico-based boxer, who is now 5-0 since suffering a seventh-round stoppage to Abregu in October 2012, buzzed Mayfield twice with coutner hooks in the opening round and landed the cleaner blows in the following rounds.

However, Mayfield (18-1-1, 11 KOs), a 33-year-old San Francisco native, stepped up his aggression in rounds six and seven and was able landed a few of his vaunted right hands. Unfortunately for Mayfield, his momentum was cut short by a pair of low blows in Round 8. Dulorme was not penalized (or even warned) for the low blows. Though Mayfield continued his late charge in the final two rounds, he was tied up by Dulorme whenever he got inside.
