Junior lightweight Ronny Rios will face Andrew Cancio on April 14 in a Golden Boy Live! show from the UIC Pavillion in Chicago on Fox Sports 1 and Fox Deportes.

The 24-year-old Rios (22-0, 10 knockouts), of Santa Ana, Calif., was last in the ring winning a unanimous decision over Jose Angel Beranza last September. Among Rios' victories is a unanimous decision over former titleholder Rico Ramos in January of last year.

"This type of matchup is what the Golden Boy Live! series was created for and in Ronny Rios vs. Andrew Cancio, we could be seeing a fight where the winner goes on to eventually become a world champion," said Richard Schaefer, CEO of Golden Boy Promotions. "Both of these young men know what's at stake in this fight and it's going to be a good one."

The 25-year-old Cancio (15-2-2, 11 KOs) is coming off a July victory over Jerry Belmontes, who unanimously decisioned previously unbeaten Will Tomlinson earlier this month. Cancio has won seven of his last eight bouts, including a unanimous decision over former title challenger Rocky Juarez in June 2012.

"We're happy to once again be partnering with Oscar De la Hoya, Richard Schaefer and Golden Boy Promotions for this world-class boxing event," said Dominic Pesoli, President of 8 Count Productions. "Events like these are outstanding entertainment for fans while showcasing the great city of Chicago to the world."

Others bouts on the card include lightweight Jose Arambula (6-0, 3 KOs) against David Diaz (4-0-1, 2 KOs), and 19-year-old lightweight Jose Felix Quezada (1-0, 1 KO) against an opponent to be determined.
