WBO 140-pound beltholder Ruslan Provodnikov will return to the ring on June 14 likely on HBO against an opponent to be determined, his promoter, Artie Pelullo of Banner Promotions confirmed on Thursday.

Pelullo would not comment on an earlier assertion made in England on Thursday, during which Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport stated that junior middleweight Brian Rose would challenge WBO titleholder Demetrius Andrade in support of a Provodnikov fight.

Top Rank Promotions CEO Bob Arum, who has co-promoted Provodnikov's most recent bouts, supported the notion of Andrade-Rose on the Provodnikov card.

"That's the date that HBO gave us. That's what Artie wants to do. Artie talked to me about doing that," said Arum of Pelullo, who promotes Andrade. "Artie has been involved with me through the Provodnikov fights but [Andrade and Rose are] not my fighters, so you should speak with Pellullo."

Provodnikov (23-2, 16 knockouts) was last in the ring for a 10th-round stoppage of Mike Alvarado, whom he floored twice on the way to winning his belt in October.

Prior to facing Alvarado, Provodnikov lost a unanimous decision in March to WBO welterweight titleholder Tim Bradley, who was floored in the 12th round.

FUNDRAISER TO BENEFIT INJURED BOXER ANGEL OSUNA

The Cabazon Band of Mission Indians and Fantasy Springs Resort Casino will host a benefit supporting injured Coachella boxer Angel Osuna on April 2.

Osuna (11-4-1, 7 KOs) spent the past few months recovering from a brain injury suffered during a December's 10th-round stoppage loss to Hugo Centeno Jr. at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino. Osuna was not able to support his young family during that time and the fundraiser will help provide funds to both help his family and alleviate the strain of medical costs.

As part of the benefit, the Cabazon Band of Mission Indians will present Osuna with a check donation. Lee Espinoza of the Coachella Valley Boxing Club, Cabazon Band of Mission Indians Chairman Doug Welmas and Coachella Mayor Eduardo Garcia will be on hand to speak during the benefit, which begins at 6 p.m. in the LIT Ultra Lounge at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino.

Included in the $20 cover charge will be hors d'oeuvres, live DJ, raffle and the opportunity to take photos with the following evenings Golden Boy Live! "Night of the Heavyweights" boxers. All proceeds from the door and raffle will go directly to Osuna.
