The Vernon Paris-Cleotis Pendarvis junior welterweight clash that was scheduled for March 21 will now take place on a different date and venue.

The scheduled 12-round bout will now take place at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles on April 19, All Star Boxing Promotions matchmaker Pete Hironaka told RingTV.com last week.

The bout was originally scheduled to take place at the Quiet Cannon in Montebello, a suburb located east of Downtown Los Angeles.

Rumors began circulating whether the bout would indeed take place in Montebello on March 21st. There were also rumors that television networks were willing to buy the bout to broadcast it on a different date.

Hironaka dismissed those rumors, only saying the bout was agreed by all parties to be moved to April 19th. Pendarvis will defend his USBA junior welterweight title that night.

In his last bout on May 10th, Pendarvis (17-4-2, 6 KOs) was stopped in the fourth round by Dierry Jean. The loss snapped a five-bout winning streak for Pendarvis.

Paris (28-1, 16 KOs) won a 10-round unanimous decision over Manuel Perez in his last bout, also on May 10th. He has won his last two bouts since losing by technical knockout to Zab Judah.

The March 21st card in Montebello will continue as  scheduled with a six-bout card. In the main event, bantamweights Ricardo Rodriguez (8-1, 3 KOs) and Ricardo Alvarado (7-1, 6 KOs) square off in a scheduled six round bout.
