Canelo Alvarez and Alfredo Angulo have been respectful during the build up to their showdown on Saturday but a day after arriving to the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, the site of their fight, the two began to talk about how they will win the fight. Both plan to do so with power punching.

"Everyone says Angulo is the stronger guy," said Alvarez, during an open workout. "But I think I'm the strongest."

Angulo countered.

"I'm ready to chase him or fight him like a true Mexican warrior," said Angulo. "I plan to test him like he's never been tested before. I don't think anyone has ever hit Canelo as hard as I'm going to hit him."

Alvarez, the former RING and WBC 154-pound champ, and Angulo are both attempting to rebound from losses.

Alvarez is coming off a majority decision loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr. in September, and Angulo scored two knockdowns during a brutal and dramatic 10th-round stoppage loss to Erislandy Lara in June.

"Angulo presents a difficult challenge because he's a fighter who can punch and take a great punch. I know I have to prepare and establish my game plan early. But you know how it can be with game plan," said Alvarez.

"Sometimes, once a fight starts, you have to do what you have to do win, and that's what I am going to do on Saturday. Obviously, a knockout would be beautiful. That's what the fans like, an impressive knockout. But I never go into a fight looking for knockout. If it comes, it comes."
