Former light heavyweight champ Antonio Tarver was arrested on Saturday night after a traffic stop in Florida, on a warrant issued by Nevada authorities, according to a The Associated Press.

A 45-year-old resident of the Tampa Bay area of Florida, Tarver was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear out of Clark County, Nev., and is being held on $215,425 bail. Jail records show that Tarver was charged in Nevada with passing a worthless check, and it was unclear whether he has retained an attorney, according to the AP.

In his last fight in October, Tarver (30-6, 21 knockouts) scored three knockdowns during a fourth-round knockout of heavyweight rival Mike Sheppard that ended a 16-month ring absence.

Tarver had returned to the ring for the first time since June 2012, when he tested positive for the banned anabolic steroid drostanolone following a draw-turned-no-contest with Lateef Kayode.

A 1996 Olympic bronze medalist, Tarver is best known for winning two of three bouts with Roy Jones jr., including a second-round stoppage victory in their second meeting.

Tarver also owns wins over ex-light heavyweight titleholders such as Glen Johnson, Clinton Woods and Montell Griffin.

Tarver had won two straight before facing Kayode, having scored a unanimous decision as a heavyweight against Naguy Aguilera and a ninth-round knockout of cruiserweight Danny Green in October of 2010 and July of 2011, respectively, that helped him to rebound from consecutive unanimous decision losses to Chad Dawson in 2008 and 2009.
