Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. will be fighting as a father for the first time in his March 1 rematch with Bryan Vera, it was revealed on Monday night's airing of HBO's "Road To Chavez-Vera II."

It was also revealed that Chavez, who has trained for nearly three months for the fight, will be fined $250,000 if he weighs in over the contracted 168-pound weight limit.

"This is a real training camp. I'm training, I'm watching my weight, I'm watching my diet," said Chavez, who will meet Vera at The Alamodome in San Antonio in Vera's home state of Texas. "I'm taking care of everything. I have the same hunger I did when I began, and when I was champion of the world."

The 15-minute special addressed Chavez's controversial 10-round unanimous decision victory over Vera in a September bout that took place in California at a 173-pound catchweight because Chavez was not able to make the originally contracted limit.

"168 is the contract. The weight will be fine, without any problems," said Chavez, who turned 28 on Feb. 16. "If not, they're going to charge me $250,000, and I don't want to pay that."

According to CompuBox, Vera (23-7, 14 knockouts) had a 176-125 advantage in overall punches landed, as well as winning 109-98 in power shots compared to Chavez (47-1-1, 32 KOs), who was awarded the decision by scores of 96-94, 97-93 and 98-92 by Carla Caiz, Marty Denkin and Gwen Adair, respectively.

In a poll of 59 media members, 53 scored the bout in favor of Vera, with the remaining six calling it a draw.  In its round-by-round, RingTV.com scored the fight for Vera, 97-93.

Just before training camp began, Chavez's fiance, Frida Munoz, gave birth to their daughter, Julia, just before the start of training camp.

"When you have a child, your life changes. I became more focused on what I have. My daughter, my family, and boxing," said Chavez. "In truth, it's something you can describe in words. But it has really motivated me, and the guy who is going to pay for it is Bryan Vera."
