Undefeated WBA middleweight titleholder Gennady Golovkin and Saturday's challenger, Osumanu Adama, each weighed in at 159.2 pounds for their clash in Monte Carlo.

Golovkin (28-0, 25 knockouts) fought four times in 2013 – stopping Gabriel Rosado, Nobuhiro Ishida, Matthew Macklin and Curtis Stevens. The Ishida knockout also took place in Monte Carlo.

Adama (22-3, 16 KOs), a native of Ghana who now lives and trains in Chicago, has never been stopped as a professional. In March 2012, he traveled to Australia to challenge Daniel Geale for the IBF title, losing a very hard fought decision.

In advance of their cruiserweight bout, Ilunga "Junior" Makabu (15-1, 14 KOs) and Ruben Angel Mino (20-0, 20 KOs) were at 193.5  and 199.3; middleweights Max Bursak (29-1-1, 12 KOs) and Jarrod Fletcher (17-1, 10 KOs) weighed 159.72 and 159; and junior flyweights Nkonsinathi Joyi (24-2, 17 KOs) and Rey Loreto (17-13, 9 KOs) came in at 106.9 and 107.6.

Roman Belaev (12-0, 10 KOs) and Dean Byrne (17-2-1, 6 KOs) weighed 146.2 and 146 in advance of their welterweight fight.

The Golovkin-Adama headlined event, titled “Monte Carlo Night of Champions,” is presented by Golden Gloves of South Africa, in association with K2 Promotions and GGG Promotions. Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions says his company will continue Golovkin’s busy schedule in 2014.
