Eddie Gomez won a battle of prospects by easily outpointing Daquan Arnett in a 10-round junior middleweight bout on the Victor Ortiz-Luis Collazo card Saturday at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Gomez (16-0, 10 knockouts) landed more and harder punches throughout the fight. The resident of nearby Bronx also put Arnett (11-1, 7 KOs) down with a right-left combination in the seventh round, a left to the body doing most of the damage.

Arnett, the taller of the two, had some success from the outside, but Gomez generally beat the Floridian to the punch and dominated inside.

The scores were 98-91, 97-92 and 97-92.

Gomez landed 154 of 421 punches (37 percent), according to punch statistics. Arnett was 99 of 423 (23 percent).
