Although there was not a lot of action this past week, THE RING Ratings Panel made some significant changes to the junior lightweight rankings, which experienced a shake-up thanks to the advancement of beltholders Rances Barthelemy and Takashi Miura.

Junior lightweight: this division was active. No. 1-rated Takaski Uchiyama (21-0-1, 17 knockouts) retained his WBA title with a points win over unrated Daiki Kaneko. Uchiyama had to survive a 10th-round knockdown but he will retain his No. 1 rating. No. 7-rated Takashi Miura (27-2-2, 20 KOs) stopped unrated Dante Jardon in nine rounds. The ever-improving Japanese slugger advances to No. 4 on the strength of the Jardon fight and his previous title defense, an impressive decision over tough contender Sergio Thompson in Thompson’s hometown of Cancun, Mexico last year. Miura leapfrogs Roman Martinez, who was stopped in his last fight, against No. 2-rated Mikey Garcia, and Juan Carlos Burgos, who has been held to draws in his last two bouts. Previously No. 4-rated Argenis Mendez upset by unrated Rances Barthelemy (21-0, 13 KOs) in two rounds. Barthelemy enters the ratings at No. 3.  The action in this division causes the following changes resulting in Thompson being dropped from the ratings:
