RING featherweight champion Mikey Garcia discusses his “good power in both hands” as well as his ability to “turn it up in a fight at any moment” during an HBO video released in advance of his fight against WBO junior lightweight beltholder Roman “Rocky” Martinez on the cable network’s Saturday tripleheader.

“It’s exciting for the fans to watch me because I do everything very well,” said Garcia, who will turn 26 in December. “I’m a very technical fighter, but with a lot of power behind my punches.”

Garcia (32-0, 27 knockouts) is the WBO’s mandatory challenger to face Martinez (30-1-1, 20 KOs), who is coming off a split-decision victory over previously unbeaten Diego Magdaleno and a split draw with Juan Carlos Burgos.

A boxer-puncher from Oxnard, Calif., Garcia last scored a fourth-round stoppage of former titleholder Juan Manuel Lopez, and before that an eighth-round technical decision over Orlando Salido.

“I’ve been able to please the fans without brawling like that,” said Garcia, who was overweight prior to his contracted 126-pound bout with Lopez, costing him his WBO belt at the scales.

“They want to see some accuracy, they want to see some precision, they want to see, you know, methodical breaking down of opponents like I do, and I still give them the knockouts. I still drop my opponents and I still hurt them. So they get pleased by that, too.”
