Wladimir Klitschko put Alexander Povetkin down four times en route to a one-sided decision Saturday night in Moscow.

It was the 15^th successful defense of Klitschko’s current reign as heavyweight titleholder.

All three judges scored it 119-104, meaning Klitschko won every round except the one in which he lost a point for pushing (the 11^th).

The fight was ugly. Povetkin’s strategy was to bull rush Klitschko but he found little success, as Klitschko quelled almost every attack by holding his smaller foe. Povetkin landed only 59 total punches, according to CompuBox.

Meanwhile, Klitschko (61-3, 51 knockouts) landed his jab with some consistency and hurt Povetkin (26-1, 18 KOs) with a number of power shots. Povetkin went down once in the second round and three times in the seventh, which seemed to put the fight out of reach barring a shocking knockout.

Klitschko landed only 139 total punches, or fewer than 12 a round. He landed no body punches, according to CompuBox.

Referee Luis Pabon allowed Klitschko to put his body weight on top of Povetkin’s during almost every clinch, which seemed to wear the Russian down.

The fight was a matchup of former Olympic super heavyweight champions.
