Tomasz Adamek will return to the NBC network airwaves on Nov. 16 against Ukrainian heavyweight Vyacheslav Glazkov, Main Events announced on Saturday.

Adamek (49-2, 29 knockouts) is a former light heavyweight and cruiserweight titleholder from Poland who, under the guidance of promoter Kathy Duva, became a mainstay attraction for fight fans in Newark, N.J., and neighboring New York. He rose into the heavyweight division in 2009 and scored a series of wins, including victories over Andrew Golota, Chris Arreola and Michael Grant, before being stopped in the tenth round by Vitali Klitshcko in 2011.

Since then he has remained unbeaten with five straight wins (though sometimes close and controversial), including decisions over Eddie Chambers, Steve Cunningham and, most recently, Dominick Guinn.

Glazkov (15-0-1, 11 KOs), who won a bronze medal at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, was last in the ring with a second-round TKO win over Midwestern journeyman Byron Polley, with his most notable fights to date being a fourth-round stoppage of New Yorker Tor Hamer, followed by a ten-round draw with Malik Scott earlier this year.

“We are quite pleased to present this classic matchup between a tough, highly respected veteran and two-division former world champion in Adamek, and an exciting, young up-and-coming former Olympic medalist in Glazkov on our next NBC afternoon broadcast,” said Duva in a press release.

“Being back on network TV for the third time in just 11 months makes this event that much more special. When Adamek appeared on NBC, last December, he brought the biggest television audience of 2012. We won’t be surprised if Adamek-Glazkov garners the biggest audience on broadcast or cable television for 2013, as well.”

The broadcast will begin at 3 p.m. ET. The venue hasn’t yet been finalized.
