England’s unbeaten welterweight Kell Brook will pursue his third straight knockout victory against Ukrainian ex-beltholder Vyacheslav Senchenko on Oct. 26 at The Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield, England, a bout to be televised on Sky Sports, Brook’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, of Matchroom Sport, announced on Friday.

“I really get up for it when I box in Sheffield. It’ll be packed to the rafters and they are really passionate fans,” said Brook.

“So I can’t wait to be back in my Arena, in a big fight that will take me closer to a World title shot. I’m on the doorstep of a World title, and I’m ready to show I have what it takes to win it.”

Brook (30-0, 20 knockouts) is coming off an eighth-round knockout of Carson Jones in a July 13 rematch of Brook’s majority decision victory that ended Jones’ winning streak of eight consecutive knockouts in July 7 of last year.

Senchenko (33-1, 22 KOs) was last in the ring in November, for his ninth-round knockout of former titleholder Ricky Hatton, of England, that helped him to rebound from a ninth-round stoppage loss to Paulie Malignaggi that dethroned him as WBA 147-pound beltholder in April of last year.

“It’s a tough task but I’m very excited. Anyone who stops Ricky Hatton is a dangerous fighter, and one that I will take very seriously,” said Brook.

“So I can’t wait to get in there and train very hard to put on a good show for my fans in Sheffield. He’s been a World champion. Been there and done it, so he will be out to prove that he’s worthy of another crack at being on top of the World.

Sechenko must first get beyond a scheduled bout against Argentina’s Carlos Adan Jerez (37-15-3, 18 KOs) on Aug. 24 in his native Ukraine.

“I’m delighted to make this fight, and feel it’s the perfect fight for Kell at this time. It’s without doubt his sternest test yet,” said Hearn.

“Senchenko brings credibility as a former World title holder and mass appeal after his KO win over Ricky Hatton. We are going to put on a special show in Sheffield and the atmosphere will be electric.”
