Ukrainian Vasyl Lomachenko, winner of his second Olympic gold medal at the 2012 Olympics in London, has announced on his website that he has signed with Top Rank, and will likely appear on the undercard of the WBO welterweight title defense by Tim Bradley against Juan Manuel Marquez on Oct. 12 at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas.

Top Rank officials Bob Arum, Todd duBoef and Carl Moretti could not be reached for an immediate comment, but according to Lomachenko’s website, he desires to fight for a title in his second professional fight.

“In his first fight, he’s going to fight in a 10-rounder, and certain opponents are being looked at,” said Top Rank matchmaker Brad Goodman, who was reached on vacation. “He wants to fight for a world title right after that, and we’re going to try to make that happen.”

Lomachenko, 25, won the featherweight gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, where he was the recipient of the Val Barker Trophy as the event’s Outstanding Boxer.

On the way to winning his second gold medal in the lightweight division in 2012, Lomachenko scored a victory over Puerto Rican Felix Verdejo, who is 6-0 with five knockouts after having signed with Top Rank.

According to ESPN.com, Ukrainian 2012 Ukrainian heavyweight Olympic gold medalist, Oleksandr Usyk, will also sign with Top Rank.
