Nathan Lewkowicz confirmed to RingTV.com a card that will take place in the U.S. Virgin Islands on Aug. 17, featuring the local fighting sons of former junior middleweight and middleweight titleholder Julian Jackson.

In the eight-round main event, once-beaten junior middleweight prospect John Jackson (16-1, 14 knockouts) meets rugged journeyman Tony Hirsch (14-5-2, 6 KOs), of Oakland, Calif.

Jackson is coming off an ESPN2 Friday Night Fights televised win over unbeaten power puncher Cerresso Fort in April. Jackson’s lone loss came last September against surging Willie Nelson on the Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.-Sergio Martinez undercard.

Hirsch has served as a primary sparring partner for super middleweight king Andre Ward for many years, and was preparing for a fight this month against former titlist Yuri Foreman before Foreman’s people pulled the plug on him as the opponent. Hirsch is managed by Marlon Sullivan, who also manages junior welterweight contender Karim Mayfield. Sullivan confirmed the fight was done a few days ago.

In the co-main event, super middleweight Julius Jackson (15-0, 11 KOs) will take on Joel McRae (9-3-1, 4 KOs) of Trinidad & Tobago in an eight-round bout.

Las Vegas featherweight Rocco Santomauro (9-0) fights Arturo Santiago (7-8-1, 4 KOs) of Puerto Rico in a six-round bout.

In a welterweight four-rounder battle of unbeatens, Daniel Rosario Cruz (4-0, 3 KOs) of San Juan, PR, meets Jordan Wisenfeld (4-0-2, 2 KOs) of Orlando.

Rounding out the card in four-round bouts are a pair of junior middleweight bouts. Miguel Santander against Eduardo Adorno, Ariel Cabrera Jr. against Arnaldo Decelet.

The card is promoted by Sampson Boxing Promotions and 340 Promotions.
