Junior featherweight contender Carl Frampton will face Everth Briceno on the undercard of the July 20 card headlined by heavyweights Dereck Chisora and Malik Scott in London, according to a press release from Frank Warren Promotions.

Frampton (16-0, 11 knockouts) is considered one of the rising stars of British boxing, with knockout wins over Steve Molitor and Kiko Martinez in his past two bouts.

The 35-year-old Briceno (35-8-2, 26 KOs) lasted 11 rounds against Leo Santa Cruz in 2011 and went the distance for a unanimous-decision loss to Omar Narvaez in the previous year. His last two fights were decision wins over the same opponent in his native Nicaragua.

“Everth Briceno is a great fighter,” said Frampton. “He … boxed Leo Santa Cruz who is a future rival of mine, so I aim to do a better job on Briceno than Cruz did. I am in the best shape of my life right now. I am improving in training every day, sparring great, and I’m looking forward to showcasing my skills at Wembley on the 20th.”

The card will also feature a middleweight matchup between Gary O’Sullivan and Billy Joe Saunders.
