Top Rank CEO Bob Arum informed RingTV.com that he expects former WBC middleweight beltholder Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. to return to the ring on July 13 on HBO against an opponent to be determined, and for RING and WBO featherweight champion Miguel Angel “Mikey” Garcia to be back in action on June 15.

Arum also said he is targeting lightweight/junior welterweight prospect Terence Crawford (20-0, 15 knockouts), who is coming off last month’s unanimous decision victory over Breidis Prescott, for the Garcia undercard at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas.

Chavez (46-1-1, 32 KOs) is coming off September’s unanimous decision loss to RING and WBC champion Sergio Martinez, while Garcia (31-0, 26 KOs) is coming off January’s eight-round technical unanimous decision over Orlando Salido.

While he is working on Chavez’s opponent with Mexico-based Fernando Beltran, Arum said Garcia could face either former titleholder Juan Manuel Lopez or Orlando Cruz.

“Julio Cesar Chavez is being targeted for July 13 on HBO, but Fernando Beltran is visiting with him this weekend,” said Arum. “Mikey Garcia is going to fight on June 15 in San Antonio at the AT &T Center against either Orlando Cruz or Juan Manuel Lopez.”

Crawford could face Raymundo Beltran (27-6, 17 KOs) should Beltran get beyond Saturday’s clash with Alejandro Rodriguez (19-9, 11 KOs). Beltran’s past two victories were by majority and unanimous decision over Henry Lundy and Ji-Hoon Kim in July and December, respectively.

“Terrence Crawford is scheduled to be on the June 15 card, and it may be against Ray Beltran, who is fighting on Uni Mas in Austin, Texas, on Saturday,” said Arum.

“If Beltran comes through with that fight, an opportunity to fight Crawford in a big fight for good money will be available.”
