Oscar Gonzalez dropped Rico Ramos en route to outpointing the former WBA 122-pound titleholder in the 10-round Friday Night Fights main event from the Little Creek Casino Resort in Shelton, Wash.

Gonzalez (21-2, 14 knockouts), a 32-year-old fringe contender from Mexico City, floored Ramos with a pair of hooks to the body and head in the sixth round. Ramos (21-3, 11 KOs), a 25-year-old speedster from Southern California, got up and fought back hard in rounds seven and eight but seemed to run out of gas in the final two rounds, enabling Gonzalez to outpoint him by scores of 96-93, 97-93 and a too-wide 98-91.

The victory enabled Gonzalez to rebound from a close 10-round decision loss to Raul Hirales last December. Ramos suffered his third loss in his last four fights. He won the WBA belt with a one-punch come-from-behind KO of Akifumi Shimoda in 2011 but lost the title via six-round KO to Guillermo Rigondeaux last January.

Ramos rebounded with an eight-round majority decision over unbeaten Efrain Esquivias Jr. last summer but lost a 10-round unanimous decision to undefeated prospect Rico Ramos in January.

In the co-feautred bout of the ESPN2 broadcast, 2012 Mexican Olympian Oscar Molina improved to 4-0 (3 KOs) with a first-round stoppage of overmatched Daryl Gardner (1-1, 1 KO).

In an entertaining swing bout, Ray Lampkin, the 29-year-old son of former lightweight title challenger Ray Lampkin, got up from a second round-knockdown to batter tall-and-tough Landon Horseman (1-1) to a third-round KO.
