Froch-Mack to be televised on Integrated Sports PPV

Three-time titlewinner and current IBF super middleweight beltholder Carl Froch will defend his belt opposite Yusaf Mack, of Philadephia, on Nov. 17 at from Capital FM Arena before Froch’s hometown fans in Nottingham, England, a bout to be televised in the United States on Integrated Sports Pay Per View starting at 3 pm ET/noon PT.

As the main event of a show promoted by Matchroom Boxing and entitled, “True Brit,” Froch (29-2-1, 21 knockouts) meets Mack (31-4, 17 KOs) at the venue where he dethroned Lucian Bute (30-1, 24 knockouts) by fifth-round stoppage in his last fight in May.

Froch-Mack is available on both cable and satellite pay-per-view via iN Demand, DIRECTV, DISH Network and Avail-TVN for $29.95, in additionn to viewership on Fight Now TV, America’s 24-hour combat sports and entertainment channel on Cablevision channel 464 as part of the iO Gold package.



“I am delighted that ”True Brit’ will be available in America on pay-per-view and for subscribers of Fight Now TV,” said Eddie Hearn, Froch’s promoter and Matchroom Sport managing director.

“It’s going to be a fantastic night of boxing in Nottingham, with Froch and Mack leading the way. Carl has a great fan base in the States after some fantastic performances there and his win over Lucian Bute proved he is one of the most exciting sportsmen on the planet.”

Froch, 35, won the WBC’s vacant belt by decisioning Jean Pascal in December of 2008, lost it the same way to Mikkel Kessler in April of 2010, and regained it by dominating ex-middleweight beltholder Arthur Abraham in November of the same year.

Froch faced Bute in Nottingham for the first time since October of 2009, when he split-decisioned Andre Dirrell in the first round of Showtime’s Super Six World Super Middleweight Classic Tournament, during which he also dominated ex-beltholder Glen Johnson by unanimous decision in June of last year before losing in the title bout by the same way to Andre Ward for the RING, WBA, WBC belts last December.

“Carl Froch is one the top pound-for-pound fighters in the world today,” said Integrated Sports media president Doug Jacobs of Froch, whose 12th-round stoppage of former undisputed middleweight titleholder Jermain Taylor in April of 2009, one bout before facing Dirrell, was the first defense of the crown he won from Pascal.

“He’s also one of the most popular and entertaining boxers who American fans can’t get enough of. His title defense against Yusaf Mack certainly will draw interest from his hometown fans in Philadelphia.”

A light heavyweight since 2008, Mack, 32, has suffered knockout losses to Alejandro Berrio and Librado Andrade in the sixth and seventh rounds as a super middleweight in 2006 and 2007, respectively.

Mack was also stopped as a light heavyweight by Johnson and current IBF titleholder Tavoris Cloud in the sixth and eighth rounds in February of 2010 and in June of last year, respectively. Mack has since earned decisions over Omar Sheika and Sabou Ballogou in April and July.

Also on the card is light heavyweight Tony Bellew (18-1, 12 KOs), of Liverpool, who has scored knockouts in the fifth and ninth rounds over Danny McIntosh and Edison Miranda in April and last month, respectively, to bounce back from a majority decision loss to WBO beltholder Nathan Cleverly in October of last year.

Bellew has a WBC eliminator bout with Argentina’s hard-hitting Roberto Feliciano Bolonti (30-1, 19 KOs), a winner of 26 consecutive fights who is in pursuit of his sixth straight stoppage win. Bolonti will be fighting outside of his native Buenos Aires for the first time.

British prospects such as lightweights Scott “Scotty” Cardle (5-0, 1 KO) and Martin J. Ward (2-0) are also expected to be featured in separate bouts, as are bantamweight Khalid “Kal” Yafai (3-0, 2 KOs), middleweight Ryan “Tank” Aston (7-1, 3 KOs) and featherweight Leigh “Leigh-thal” Wood (4-0, 1 KO).

“This is a fight not to be missed with a brilliant undercard of young British fighting talent led by Tony Bellew that I know the US fans are going to love to watch,” said Hearn.

In the meantime, Abraham (35-3, 27 KOs), of Germany, is set to pursue his third straight win against Mehdi Bouadla (26-4, 11 KOs) on Dec. 15 in Bayern, Germany, in defense of the WBO 168-pound belt he won by dethroning Robert Stieglitz via unanimous decision in August.

Bouadla, of has won four straight since being stopped in the fourth round by Kessler in June of last year.
