Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer has confirmed to ringTV.com that Miguel Cotto will face Austin Trout on Dec. 1 at Madison Square Garden for Trout’s WBA “regular” junior middleweight title.

Also according to Schaefer, the Sept. 8 matchup between IBF welterweight titleholder Randall Bailey and Devon Alexander will be rescheduled due to an injury Bailey suffered in sparring. The new date will be either Oct. 20 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., or Oct. 27 on the Abner Mares-Anselmo Moreno card in Anaheim, Calif. Both Golden Boy Promotions shows will be televised on Showtime.

The change means that the WBC 140-pound title elimination bout between Lucas Matthysse and Ajose Olusegun will now be the main event of the Sept. 8 Showtime-televised card.
