4. Wilfredo Vazquez Sr.

Record: 56-9-2 with 41 knockouts

Years Active: 1981-2002

Title Reign: March 27, 1992-May 13, 1995 (WBA)

Style: Boricuan bomber that can be patient when needed

Strengths: Numbing two-fisted power, killer instinct

Why Is He Ranked? Between his brief tenure as WBA bantamweight king and a worthy reign as that body’s featherweight titleholder, Vazquez assembled a three-year, nine-defense reign that began with a revenge third-round stoppage of longtime 118-pound titleholder Raul Perez, who easily out-boxed Vazquez over 10 rounds three-and-a-half years earlier. He added the scalps of four former or future champions during this span, including a split decision win over Orlando Canizales on HBO in his final defense.

Best Opponents at 122: Raul Perez (L 10, KO 3), Israel Contreras (KO by 1), Thierry Jacob (KO 8, KO 10), Luis Mendoza (W 12), Juan Polo Perez (W 12), Orlando Canizales (W 12), Antonio Cermeno (L 12)

Also Faced in Other Divisions: Miguel Lora (L 12), Antonio Avelar (KO 8), Juan Carazo (KO 1), Chan Young Park (KO 10), Takuya Muguruma (D 12), Khaokor Galaxy (L 12), Eloy Rojas (KO 11), Naseem Hamed (KO by 7), Juan Lazcano (KO by 9)
