Former two-division champion Ricky Hatton climbs back into the ring on November 12 at Oldham Sports Centre, Lancs, to make make his debut as a trainer – in the corner of English welterweight hopeful, Adam Little.

Having officially retired as a fighter in July, the 32-year-old Hitman, a titleholder at junior welterweight and welterweight, is now focusing on a dual career as chief of Hatton Promotions and trainer to some of the stable's brightest young talents.

Little, 20, from Oldham, is considered one of those after winning his first three professional outings and Hatton, who conceded recently that he became suicidal while turning to drink and drugs in the wake of his thumping by Manny Pacquiao in December 2009, is clearly getting serious kicks from his new role ringside.

"I boxed to be the best in the world and nothing has changed now I've become a trainer. My standards remain as high as when I was a fighter and I hope to try and become the best trainer in the world, " said Manchester-born Hatton, whose only other defeat in a career of 54 fights and 52 wins came at the hands of Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2007.

"This is the biggest buzz I have had since my fighting days. When I was going through my depression I would nip off to the pub – but I don't want to do that now. I am looking forward to every day and every even I sit up thinking of new things we can do in training.
