Carlos Molina's 2010 debut has been pushed back a little further, but hopefully for the last time this year.

The 25-year-old lightweight prospect thought his first fight of the year would be on a May 20 Solo Boxeo card from The Hanger on the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa, Calif., but that scheduled eight-round bout, against Puerto Rican veteran Angel Chacon, was moved to a May 27 show at the Sports Arena in Pico Rivera, Calif.

Molina (14-0, 7 knockouts) recently informed RingTV.com that his fight with Chacon has been rescheduled once again, this time to a June 3 card at the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, Calif., which is headlined by the Leo Santa Cruz-Jose Lopez bantamweight crossroads match. Telefutura will televise the June 3 Solo Boxeo card.

The delays have Molina itching to fight. The Southern California-based lightweight prospect had to sit out the first quarter of the year with a hand injury he sustained in his last bout, an eight-round decision over John Figueroa last November. He was scheduled to appear on the Joseph Agbeko-Abner Mares undercard  on April 23 but a nasty flu bug and ear infection ruined those plans.

"My hand is healed up and I'm healthy, so I'm ready to go," Molina said. "Being out of the ring for so long is frustrating. The delays add to it, but it also gives me more time to train. I've been working hard in the gym since late April, so I plan to look sharp on June 3."
